One of the things that makes DKT truly different, and of which I am very proud, is the level of preparation that goes into every single tour. Before I decide on a tour destination, I will visit the destination country in order to create a network of support there.
During my visit, I interview 5-10 locals as potential ground operators. From these 5-10 people, I will select just 2-3 to perform this task during the DKT tour.
I look for people who are experts in their culture and the sites that we will be visiting. These individuals are then educated in every aspect of Judaism, so that they may be entirely knowledgeable about the specific needs of the Jewish traveler.
While visiting the destination country, I also select a kosher catering partner. By selecting a caterer in the destination country, I am able to ensure that each traveler will receive three delicious kosher meals per day. Each meal will be prepared with fresh local ingredients and offer a taste of the local cuisine.
In the event that there is no kosher caterer in the destination country, I select a kosher chef who will accompany us on our tour. This way we are able to visit countries where kosher food may not be available, such as Ethiopia and Uganda.
This is all of the groundwork that is laid before you even have a chance to book your fabulous DKT tour! Once you book your vacation, there is little else you need to do besides pack your suitcase.
