JEFFREY WOOLF

Born in Boston, Jeffrey Woolf is faculty member in the Talmud Department at Bar Ilan University, specializing in Jewish Law and History. He is also an internationally known lecturer who frequently appears in the Israeli and European media.

He received his BA in History from Boston University, a Bachelor of Hebrew Literature from Boston Hebrew College, and his MA and PhD in medieval Jewish Intellectual History from Harvard University in 1991, where he was a student of Professor Isadore Twersky.

He spent two years as a post-doctoral fellow and lecturer at in the Religion Department at Yale University, and he studied for nine and a half years with Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik זצ”ל both in Boston and New York, and he received smicha from him in 1982.

He has years of experience leading trips to Europe. His wide range of knowledge and interests plus his intimate acquaintance with all of the countries he visits has transformed the trips he guides into an unforgettable experience. These areas include (Jewish and general):

JACOB SHOSHAN

Born in Jerusalem, Jacob Shoshan is a licensed tour guide in Israel as well as a teacher and lecturer for Tour Guide College at Hebrew University (a joint program with Hebrew Union College, Jerusalem), Tel Aviv University, and Everyman’s University, Tel Aviv. Jacob is also a Senior Tour Director and Lecturer for the Geographical Society, Israel.

He has visited 98 countries and led tours in 65 countries on all six continents. He is fluent in 15 languages and presents in-depth discussions on Jewish history, philosophy and culture as part of his escorting responsibilities. His background covers:

  • Holocaust Studies
  • Sephardi Jewish Heritage
  • Jewish Musicology

Jacob is a member of IATM (International Association of Tour Managers).
