Depart the USA on our overnight flight to Casablanca
Day 2 / Wednesday, January 18, 2012
Arrival at Mohamed V airport in Casablanca, we are welcomed by our Deluxe Kosher Tours tour escort and transferred to downtown Casablanca to our hotel. After settling in our rooms we are transferred to the L’Alliance Club in Casablanca for dinner.
Day 3 / Thursday, January 19, 2012
Buffet breakfast at hotel. The first fe days of our trip will focus on the cultural aspect of the Kingdom of Morocco to give us a cultural context for our adventure travel : The Imperial Cities. We start in the Economic capital and the biggest country of Morocco. Enjoy our sightseeing tour of Casablanca with the prestigious Mosque Hassan II and the picturesque Habous district with its ancient court. Kosher Lunch at the l’Alliance Club.In the afternoon, we will have the opportunity to meet with members of Morocco present-day Jewish community. Dinner at leisure at Le Cercle and continued meetings with Moroccan Jews. Transfer back to our hotel for accommodation.
Day 4 / Friday, January 20, 2012
After Buffet breakfast at hotel, we tour the current capital of Morocco – Rabat – at the ancient necropolis of Chellah, a thriving city and port for nearly 1,000 years. Its ruins date from the Roman through the Islamic periods and is a special favorite of bird-watchers. Visit the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V- father of King Hassan II – who achieved independence for Morocco in 1956. Revered by both Muslim and Jew alike, in the face of the occupying Vichy regime during WW2 saved Moroccan Jews from the fate of their European brethren. Wander about the picturesque, labyrinthine Kasbah des Ooudaias overlooking the Atlantic ocean.Transfer to Fez. We will be served a box lunch on the bus .Afternoon arrival in Fez with time to prepare for Shabbat.
Erev Shabbat services with the Jewish community of Fez ( within walking distance of our hotel ). Enjoy a special Erev Shabbat meal in the Maimonedes Club in Fez.

Folowing breakfast weventure into the medieval world of Fez El Bali : Highlights of your visit include the Mederssa ( Koranic university), BouInania, the MederssaAttarine, countless souks, the famous tanneries and the house of the famous philosopher and physician Maimonedes (with its mysterious water-clock). The narrow and cobbled streets of Fez are filled with mosques, crumbling fondouks (inns for medieval travelers and their animals) and narrow openings into the private world beyond: an architecture of carved cedar portals, brilliantly colored mosaic tiles, delicately carved stucco ornaments, and green glazed roofs. In Fez, veiled women still hurry through the streets, donkeys – laden with their wares – takes their time, and proud craftsmen forge objects much as their forefathers did centuries ago. Lunch at the Maimonedes Club. In the afternoon, special arrangements to visit interior of a spectacular private18th century Riad (a traditional Islamic country house), once one of the wealthiest houses in Fez . We explore Fez J’did and the Mellah (Jewish district). The Mellah of Fez once had 40 synagogues. See the vast and picturesque Jewish cemetery near the gates to the Royal Palace and the nascent Jewish Museum at the EmHaBanim synagogue. Dinner at the Maimonedes Club.
Day 7 / Monday, January 23, 2012
Early breakfast and departure to BeniMellal, driving via the charming landscape of the Middle Atlas Mountains, its cedar forests, the resorts of Imouzer and Ifrane, D’AitAoua Lake and the Berber town of Azrou. You will stop at Debbou, site of the Jews coming from Murcia and Seville in Spain. According to the legend, Ifrane is an important pilgrimage point for Moroccan Jews. You will be served a box lunch en route. Arrival in Marrakech via the large palm grove for overnight at our hotel. Enjoy some leisure time before dinner.Dinner at LeSepharade Restaurant in Marrakech.
Day 8 / Tuesday, January 24, 2012
Following breakfast we begin our day with a tour of the mellah of Marrakech – ancient synagogues and the vast Jewish cemetery. Visit the exotic Majorelle Gardens (recently restored by owner Yves St. Laurent ). Visit the Bahia Palace and the Saadien Tombs – a treasure lost within the medina until its rediscovery only in this century. Lunch at Le Sepharade restaurant.
In the afternoon, explore exotic Marrakech : the towering 12th century Koutoubia minaret, the Menara Gardens, visit the colorful souks of Marrakech – spices, carpets, artisan produced in some cases the same way it was made hundreds of years ago. Early evening at Djemaa El Fna, when the square comes alive with storytellers, snake charmers, magicians, and street performers : a unique spectacle. Dinner at Le Sepharade.
Day 9 / Wednesday, January 25, 2012
Buffet breakfast at hotel. Departure to the Ourika Valley where Rabbi Salomon Ben Lhens was buried and where you may find the sacred inscriptions. Kosher Box lunch will be served ( catered by a kosher caterer from Marrakech ), then return to Marrakech. You will have enough time before dinner show in the palm grove of Marrakech. In this case, we suggested to do shopping in souks.
This night, we enjoy dinner under tents will arranged in a charming palm grove outside Marrakech,complete with folkloric musicians, belly dancers, troupes and a horsemanship show at CHEZ ALI.
Day 10 / Thursday, January 26, 2012
After Buffet breakfast at the hotel, we are transferred to the Marrakech Menara Airport for our flight back home.
